Medical Corner – Dr. Dave Brinton |
|
Greetings Triathletes! It is going to be a great year for triathlons and nobody does it better than TriUtah. This is the first of a series of articles that is designed to get you through the season injury-free. My name is Dave Brinton, I’m a sports medicine physician who staffs the medical tent at all of TriUtah’s events.
Last year, I went for a ride up Emigration Canyon and down to East Canyon Reservoir, it was beautiful. When I got home, I felt a sharp, stabbing pain on the outside of my knee. Then it crossed over to hurting with my runs. Then it began hurting all of the time! It can be frustrating and end your season if not cared for properly.
